This will tell us the driver we're using. There will be a long list of files there, scroll down until you find some entries that begin with "nv_dispi.inf_amd64_" followed by some random hex string. Go to the "Driver" tab, and hit "Driver Details". To find the current desktop GPU drivers, go to your Device Manager and open up the properties for your eGPU (you'll need your eGPU plugged in obviously). So what can we do? Fortunately for us, the notebook chips are generally based off of cut down desktop chips so if we just force it to use the same driver it *should* work. The problem is that Nvidia's notebook graphics drivers don't support the desktop cards and vice versa: for example these are the latest drivers as of for desktop cards and notebooks respectively: Rebooting, or uninstalling and then scanning for changes fixes this but is a pain. Either Code 43 or 10 (Device cannot start blah blah) or it's using Microsoft Basic Display Adapter driver. After plugging in the eGPU, it works great but the dGPU shows a problem in device manager or due to the conflict there’s stuttering. So I ran into a pretty common problem apparently while hooking up my eGPU to a laptop with a dGPU.
